This Christmas make sure you get into the festive spirit with our round up of great Christmas themed events taking place in Bedfordshire! Whether you’re looking for family fun, something for just the two of you, a traditional experience or something else entirely, you’ll find an event that suits you!

For those of you that want to tell Santa your wish list in person, there are several opportunities for you to find him around the county.

On Sundays throughout December, you can find him at Wardown Park Museum in Luton where you can have a chat with Father Christmas, listen to Mrs Claus tell festive stories and even get treats from the helpful elves. Find out more here.

Santa will also be spending time at the Swiss Garden, which is near Biggleswade. Join him in his festive grotto by following the trail up to the Swiss Cottage where you can also take part in a variety of activities including Christmas Crafts!

If you can believe it, Father Christmas is doing a lot more than hanging out at grottos to greet the county’s children – he’s performing too! To see him in action, visit the Luton Library Theatre and watch Santa’s Marvellous Magical Toyshop and see what happens when his Chief Elf decides to retire.

For those of you who like the sound of a show…

There are several chances to catch festive themed shows in the lead up to Christmas. In Bedford, the Quarry Theatre is showing Hansel and Gretel, the Pantomime, this new take on an old classic is perfect for the whole family. Find out more here.

If you want something that you can involve the whole family in, take a look at the Illuminations event at Stockwood Discovery Centre – these festive walks are taking place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and you’re welcome to join in Christmas activities and share some of the amazing food on offer!
