We all know the rhyme: Remember, remember the fifth of November, gun powder treason and plot… As the 5th is a Tuesday though, you’re more likely to find that the firework displays will be taking place the weekend before and we thought we’d put together a selection of displays you can catch around the county.

First up on the 1st November, we have arguably the biggest display, the Ampthill Festival. This annual community fireworks display is held in Ampthill Great Park and is run on a not-for-profit basis with funds being distributed to local charities.

This year the display will include a performance from local band, The Numbers, as well as having all the usual fairground rides and food stalls that you would expect from the Ampthill Festival.

There are a number of displays taking place the following day. Oakley Sports and Social Club in Bedford will have a display at the club ground and promises that this year will be bigger and better than ever! The fireworks will be complimented with carousels, trampolines, bouncy castles and kid’s entertainment in Oakley Village Hall. If you’re in Leighton Buzzard, the annual fireworks display is also taking place on 2nd November at the Axe and Compass. Money raised from the display will be going to charities located in and around Leighton Buzzard.

The Cross Keys in Bedford are hosting the Pulloxhill Fireworks Display on 3rd November. Weather permitting, the event will also have a bonfire and a bbq alongside the usual bar, stalls and fairground rides.

If you’re a stickler for tradition and want to attend a display on actual Bonfire Night, don’t worry, the Scott Primary School PTA firework event is taking place on the 5th at the school in Bedford.
