About
Take a guided tour around Bedfordshire's award-winning historic vineyard and learn about this exciting community project.
Discover the secrets of Bedfordshire's medieval vineyard, English wine-making, and how volunteers look after the vines all year round at this exciting community project.
Vines were first planted on this beautiful Bedfordshire field in medieval times by monks at Warden Abbey. Replanted in 1986, the vineyard has produced award-winning wines every year since its first vintage. Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity now lease the vineyard in an ambitious project to provide a unique community and educational resource – and have continued its medal-winning tradition. The tour concludes with a tasting of two of the latest wines.
If the weather's nice, you're welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy among the vines.
Strictly advance bookings only please. Book at http://www.wardenvineyard.org.uk/events/ £10 for non-members; £6 for members + a guest. Accompanied children free. Dogs welcome on leads.
Please note there is no winery on the site. The vineyard is grassed and on a gentle slope. Please bring suitable footwear/outdoor clothing for the weather. Our wine is for sale on the day.
