Barbican String Quartet 16th Mar St. Augustine's Church Map
A welcome return to Luton from this excellent young string quartet that first played for us two years ago. Winners of the International Joseph Joachim Chamber Music Competition they are fast becoming regular favourites with audiences throughout Europe. Alongside Haydn and Beethoven they offer the first quartet of Leoš Janáček, inspired by the Tolstoy novella, which was in turn inspired by Beethoven's penultimate violin sonata which will be performed here in Luton in our next concert.
